As the church focused on planting more churches, partnering with schools, and serving the community, the church family continued to grow. On April 4, 2010, Journey Church had its Grand Opening at our first Ladson location on Treeland Drive. So the church began to meet on Sunday evenings at College Park Baptist Church. As the church continued to grow, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church allowed us to meet in their larger facilities on Sunday nights from 2007-2010. The church first met in the Browning home but quickly outgrew their living room. The program offers graduates additional opportunities to become self-sufficient including: House of Grace transitional home. Learning to speak with a healthy emotional vocabulary. It was a productive and useful experience for all who attended.In 2007, Pastor Will, his wife, Tarah, and ten others moved from Louisville, KY to Summerville, SC to plant the Journey Church with a vision to see every man, woman, and child have multiple opportunities to see, hear, and respond to the gospel. It was dreaded for a few reasons…one it was a big commitment of time…3.5-4 yours, it was on Zoom and we’re all fatigued with that plus we had a governance seminar a few years ago that was just awful. He recently conducted a webinar on governance for our Board. His experience in our space was really beneficial. He did a thorough review of our draft and made several helpful suggestions. It was an intimating undertaking but was made so much easier (not easy but easier) through Gordon’s help by supplying BPM’s from other Missions and a boilerplate BPM from Citygate. schedules and teaches the classes offered at the Mission for program participants Works closely with the Manager of the New Life Recovery Program on.
